Send keyboard keystrokes in linux
I’m running a very small Debian 12 VM and trying to keep RAM usage low. Here’s exactly what I did:
- Installed Debian 12 from the netinstall minimal ISO with only the SSH task selected.
- Installed a minimal GUI:
apt install mate-desktop-environment-core lightdm --no-install-recommends- Installed the ScreenConnect (ConnectWise Control) client and its dependencies.
The client starts and works: the GUI is fine, file transfer (send/get files) works, agent in tray icon, chat is ok.
Problem: in client menu Essential → Send keyboard keystrokes, nothing is injected on the remote system (no keystrokes arrive). This feature is important and useful
