Approved Branding Access Plugin - Restore Some Previous Functionality
As users of ScreenConnect since 2012 - we have relied on this product to power our large MSP Business. Over the years due to the security issues, updates were performed to remain safe and compliant, however, certain features were taken away from the solution.
Simply put, we want some of those features back. We want to be able to change our upper left logo and background image to meet our organizations needs / requirements once again. Our needs are the same needs other users of ScreenConnect have used and want restored to their hosted or on premise solutions.
I understand that the software was misused by certain bad actors, however, for the Enterprise users, using it correctly, this blanket decision to remove all custom features, features we have used for well over a decade, has been disappointing.
We suggest that a plugin be created, a validation / form completed, and approval obtained from the Connectwise - ScreenConnect Partner Account Manager to restore this functionality back to the system.
We understand that certain features cannot be changed and we agree - keeping a banner on the top of the remote access image, approving individual to sign into a machine / acknowledge access, system tray icons that always remain present - should all remain non-editable in the solution. These legitimate indicators are important to provide confidence to the end users whom are being remotely accessed / supported.
However, having some branding ability that is approved and known by ScreenConnect reduces the exposure of misuse and returns a look and feel / branded images that many organizations have used over the years.
I hope this can be voted up and a compromise between the companies like us that buy / support your product and ScreenConnect the developers of the software can be reached.
Having some small branding control back would be a step of good faith and oversight that ScreenConnect can manage / control to make the product well rounded, flexible, and secure again like it once was. Thanks.
