After updating to the latest version our clients do get the following error message when trying to download the client software:

[FileNotFoundException: Die Datei "C:\Program Files (x86)\ScreenConnect\Bin\ScreenConnect.ClientSetup.exe" konnte nicht gefunden werden.]
   ScreenConnect.Extensions.PerformUnwrappingInnerException(Func`1 func) +134
   System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.InvokeEndHandler(IAsyncResult ar) +241
   System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.OnAsyncHandlerCompletion(IAsyncResult ar) +172

Make sure Windows defender is not removing the file from the server (had to exclude on ours).

You need to exclude:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ScreenConnect\Bin\ - Files used for packaging up the client install
C:\Windows\SystemTemp\ScreenConnect\ - Temporary package location that clients recieve

Hi genfuzuki,

thanks! It was the same issue here as well.

Everything WAS working fine with the new version and the new Code signing.

Clients where updating fine.

As of this morning no more client updates.

I tried to do manual client install and indeed a web error.

The Microsoft antivirus definition updated last night and deleted the Screenconnect.ClientSetup.exe very silently and very sneaky as far as i'm concerned.

No popup, no application or system log mention.

I had to do an installation repair to get the file back.

Thank you very much genfuziku !

This has got to be one of the most rushed and untested releases i have ever seen. They still need to sort out the Code signed packages from being listed as untrusted (Full install and the ClickOnce). Also the version bug (installed 9314 but console says i have 9313)!
