ScreenConnect update process blocked by Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Hello,
I’m encountering an issue where the ScreenConnect update process, whether triggered automatically or manually from the web console, is being blocked by Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
When checking the Malwarebytes detection history, I can see that the executable located in
C:\Windows\SystemTemp\ScreenConnect\<version>\...
is detected as malware and quarantined/blocked. As a result, the update cannot proceed.
This has been observed with ScreenConnect versions 25.5 and 25.6 so far (possibly affecting earlier or later versions, though not tested).
The only ways to complete the update are:

temporarily disabling the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware module, or

adding an exclusion for C:\Windows\SystemTemp\ScreenConnect\
However, creating an exclusion for that directory presents a potential security risk.
Could you please investigate this issue or coordinate with Malwarebytes to prevent false-positive detections?
