automatic search focus when typing (unless in chat/command prompt line)

In version 24 (possibly 25.something) of ScreenConnect, when one would be clicked ANYWHERE in the SC window (other than a chat box or command line box of course), typing would result in ending up in the search line (where you can search for a host name or username).  
That was SUPER convenient and fast (yes, only a few seconds per session, but...), and now, as you know, you have to click in the search line and then type.  

This has changed somewhere around version 25 (perhaps 25.something).  I was hoping it was a bug that would go away in the next version, but here we are at 26.5, and it has still not returned.  
Spoke to tech support via chat, and the tech says that this earlier functionality was a bug, and that it has been fixed (doh!).  I can see how it is a bug, as it's counter-intuitive GUI-wise, but once you know it's there, it's very convenient to use.

Any chance of having this as an optional behavior in the future, via settings?
