Client app without installation

A client app without installation would be fine (like teamviewer quick support) for users, which don´t have admin permission on the pc

Duplicates 1
Standalone EXE like TeamViewer's QuickSupport

Please consider offering a standalone EXE (and app for OS X) for guests, like TeamViewer's QuickSupport. It differs from unattended access in that it runs on demand, not 24/7.

Found this thread:

Have a utility like the ScreenConnector extension for quick joining sessions from the desktop

but commenting is disabled.

Michael Bannerman's answer appears as "Completed", but it is blank.

Xander Warrender suggested ScreenConnector, which was posted by Jake 3 years ago:

ScreenConnector-- quickly connect from your windows taskbar

It just crashed in Windows 7, even with the proper .Net Framework installed.

I think the ScreenConnect Desktop Client would possibly work for this. it is in the Extensions and the guest would go to your Guest Page and download the EXE to create a support session.

Thanks for your reply, Mhighsmith. I have installed "Guest Session Starter Exe" to my Extensions, but am unclear on what to do next to get the EXE onto a guest machine. In the Host section, I found Extras > Download Desktop Client and downloaded it ("ScreenConnect Desktop Client.exe"), but it crashes with a "System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type..." error under Windows 7.

the guest would go to your ScreenConnect home / guest page and download the desktop client from the EXTRAS drop down. I do not get an error when running the EXE on windows 7 that you are getting. I am currently on 5.6.10838.5991

Thanks Mhighsmith! I don't see a resolution for my issue in that thread, but thanks for the link. What I'd really like to convey is the importance of having something like TeamViewer's QuickConnect for both Windows and OS X clients; without it, SC is just very cumbersome to use with existing customers.

Can you please confirm that you're running .NET 4.5 (or greater)? IAsyncStateMachine was moved inbetween 4.0 and 4.5.

Thanks very much Scott - upgrading .NET from 4.0 to 4.5 did the trick.

Please consider offering a standalone quick support app for Windows and OS X, ideally without dependencies that may be missing.
