Copy and paste

We use SC extensively—every day, all day—and it’s become an essential tool in our workflow. Unfortunately, the copy-and-paste functionality has recently started causing significant issues. While this problem is relatively new for us, discussions in the forums suggest it may have been a long-standing concern.

Is there a plan to address this issue? Or are we facing the possibility that SC may no longer meet our needs?

Please make sure you’re running version 26.3.11, and that both the host and guest clients are fully up to date.

This release resolves the vast majority of issues where copy/paste was failing or causing instability with the host or client.

ScreenConnect 26.3 / ScreenConnect

We’re still seeing a small number of cases where some devices experience intermittent crashes, but these are occurring far less frequently than in previous versions. We’re actively investigating the remaining issues.

If you continue to run into problems, it would be very helpful if you could include the following details when reporting:

  • The applications you were copying from and pasting into
  • Whether the issue occurred on the host or guest side
  • Whether either the host or guest client process crashed
  • Any related errors observed in Event Viewer

Thx!
Sean

Release 26.3.11.9650

Still having issues from a Mac remotely controlling a Windows PC when attempting to copy anything with an image to the clipboard. (Snipit Tool, or application based screen capture) Text based copy (including entire cells in Excel) are no longer causing the session to crash resulting in a locked screen on the target Windows PC.

We are close to a fix, but any image sent to the clipboard is still crashing the session.

Hopefully the SC dev team can bring this one home once and for all, as it has caused a ton of pain to customers.

Looks like 26.4 has addressed the snip-it crash:
