Why remove the HIDE option from the connection banner ?

Why did you remove the option to hide the connection banner after connect ?

It does not make the product more secure. Initially the connection banner is shown.

Hiding the connection bar is not something you can do in a flash, it takes time so the customer does see the banner before that.

The option is also not permanent.

If we help customers that are on a Remote Desktop session or something else that shows a box in the same place (a tab in a browser for example) the connection banner is very annoying. You can move it to another place but often also there it is very annoying.

Please explain, it slowly starts looking like you don't trust your own product anymore.

All other similar tools have the same options to move banners nearly invisible and to brand them.

When is 25.9 going to be released? What Month and what Year? Be specific.

You keep referring to an upcoming release, but those releases never materialize. First it was supposed to be 25.7 (or earlier), then 25.8, and now 25.9. When will 25.9 stable actually be released to fix this issue permanently, and what guarantees it won’t be delayed again like the previous versions? Is the 25.9 release going to include the banner being moved to the middle right side of the screen by default where it's least impactful?

I have been transparent about the changes; we won't release until it is ready and working as intended. I believe that will be 25.9, but of course, it could be delayed if we run into issues with testing.

In our output stream we updated 25.7 notes to inform that the change was reverted as we needed additional refinement and testing time to ensure the experience is correct for both the Host and the Guest clients.

We are continuing work on this and plan to include it in an upcoming release, most likely 25.9.

What's the status on fixing this? Was suppose to be fixed long ago but keeps getting pushed out. Is this ever going to get fixed?

Our cloud portal when we click on upgrade doesn't have it. I guess I'll keep waiting for it. They keep pushing out these fixes so we shall see if 25.8 has everything fixed or if it's going to be pushed again to 25.9.

I'm still showing Canary on my end, no stable 25.8 yet.

The version check in the screen connect application shows it's stable. It's also available on the downloads page as stable.

I’m not sure if you had a chance to see our Output Stream, but I wanted to let you know that we’ve reverted the change for version 25.7 due to some inconsistencies in behavior. Our priority is to ensure a seamless experience before release, so we’re targeting completion for 25.8 or shortly thereafter.

Regarding a few of the points you raised:

  • Banner visibility and tab blocking: We’re actively exploring solutions to reduce the impact of the banner on guest interactions. One important note is that the dialog is currently moveable. In a future update, we plan to introduce a visual cue to make this more apparent, along with a Dismiss button that will allow guests to hide the banner if they choose.

  • Default placement customization: At this time, we haven’t planned for customization of the banner’s default position. That said, we’re open to considering it if it becomes a clear need.

Thanks again for your feedback—it’s helping us shape a better experience.

It looks like 25.8.0.9440 has been released as stable. Did the "hide banner for technicians" feature make it into this release?  I'm not sure if the release notes are up to date since they are still marked as Canary even though 25.8 is already released as Stable.

1. A dismiss button, like an "X" button on the far right side of the banner for the Guest to click on to hide the banner vs. having to click the Gear then clicking Exit is definitely a must and also the ability for the Guest to move banner out of the way because it will continue block their tabs by default which all our clients keep complaining about.

2. The default banner placement should be changed to the middle right of the screen (see screenshot below of another remote access solution), not the very top or provide partners like us the ability to change the default placement using a customization setting.
