Why remove the HIDE option from the connection banner ?

Why did you remove the option to hide the connection banner after connect ?

It does not make the product more secure. Initially the connection banner is shown.

Hiding the connection bar is not something you can do in a flash, it takes time so the customer does see the banner before that.

The option is also not permanent.

If we help customers that are on a Remote Desktop session or something else that shows a box in the same place (a tab in a browser for example) the connection banner is very annoying. You can move it to another place but often also there it is very annoying.

Please explain, it slowly starts looking like you don't trust your own product anymore.

All other similar tools have the same options to move banners nearly invisible and to brand them.

We still have this issue as well on certain machines. Can't click Browser Tabs because the banner is blocking mouse clicks. We have to manually drag the browser below the hidden banner then everything works fine. There still seems to be an issue with the banner being really transparent to the engineer controlling the remote machine.

Wasted an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with Chrome. Was the now invisible banner blocking me from changing tabs.  It either needs to be visible to the tech so it can be moved out of the way or not block mouse clicks. Why would you hid it from the person using it? When will this be fixed?

Can we please get the option to enable the banner?

It is crucial to us for other technicians to be able to easily view when another is present on a Host machine.

Sean White, i renew my question.

Now that WE the controllers of the session no longer can see the connection banner, can the option to hide not be brought back.

Now the only one that can see it and USE it is the customer, there could be no harm in that.

Or do you think i'm wrong ?

3x months since my last comment and it's still not fixed. The banner is transparent/hidden but it still blocks mouse input and tabs, etc. When is this going to be fixed? Another year? Two years?

I agree. If they actually had a fix, it would have been delivered already. Instead, it keeps getting pushed back with nothing but excuses. The simplest solution is to move the banner to the right side of the screen, exactly as shown in the screenshot I provided. That immediately eliminates the disruption while they sort out a long-term plan. This should have been thought through before the feature was pulled from everybody in the first place. Instead, we’re stuck with the pain while waiting. I guess I'll check back in a month or three.

It has been clear for some time that the developers don't know how to handle these issues. The removal of customizations was supposedly necessary for security, but the fact it has been months and they still can't figure out how to bring them back without compromising the integrity of the product proves they have no idea what they are doing. ScreenConnect's priorities have been all wrong since this started, so I wouldn't expect this issue to be resolved in a hurry. But hey, maybe they will prove me wrong. We'll see.

To be clear, the point I’m making is that your testing clearly isn’t going well, which is why the release keeps getting delayed. Instead of leaving us waiting for months — which is exactly what’s happening and has been happening for a while — why not disable the banner on our tenant until your dev team resolves the issues? I’m obviously not the only one dealing with this, and the frustration isn’t mine alone. My comments reflect what many others are experiencing.

Thanks for sharing your concerns—I completely understand how frustrating these delays have been.

The banner is tied to functionality we’re still validating and turning it off could create additional complications. Our team is working to resolve the issues and move things forward as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience and partnership, and I’ll make sure to keep you updated as soon as we have solid progress to share.
