so, I downloaded the installer for 25.8.0.9440 yesterday and defender flagged it as malware and Huntress did their thing and isolated my SC server..  I know there's issues with the client installer that we now sign, but this is a new one.

Hi All,

25.8 was not ready for primetime and I pushed it too early (100% my mistake). There were some integration and product dependencies that needed to be addressed before it could move to "stable".

The Defender issue was addressed and we're putting a few more things in place for re-release.  Everyone should see it back on the page in the next week or so.

We will have 9 releases of the product this year not including minors and hotfixes.  Development on the product is still very active.

This latest stable version 25.8.1.9447 was posted to the Output Stream on 11/19/25, but there are no release notes and it isn’t available for download. Could someone clarify what's going on here? It would help maintain consistency and avoid confusion going forward.

I installed version 25.8.0.9440 the day after it was released, since it appeared as the latest build under Status Check. I couldn’t find any release notes for it — the only version mentioned on the ScreenConnect Output Stream was 25.8.0.9438 (Canary). Since I was still running the older 25.4.20.9295, I decided to upgrade anyway.

When I re-entered my license key to check again yesterday, I noticed that 25.8.0.9440 had been removed from the download page.

What’s going on here? Are the developers still maintaining the On-Premise version, or is it being phased out? It’s starting to feel a bit like abandonware.

Microsoft Defender also blocked an installer component, but the installation apparently succeeded and the server is running 25.8.0.9440 now without any apparent issues...

Indeed, Microsoft Security also flags it as a virus.

The update was rolledback during installation.

With ESET it works fine.
