Speed of file transfer

Can somebody have a real look at the speed of the file transfer.

It has become slower and slower over time.

I see a nice note about improving performance on the latest build but clearly not for file transfer.

If i transfer a 500mb file it can take up to 30 minutes with Screenconnect.

With a competing product that also does the same it's less then 30 seconds.

(We have a 8 GB connection and the endpoint has a 1 GB connection to internet)

You would need to look into your 2 endpoints to determine the cause of slowness. We have thousands of clients and sending files across random clients will vary in terms of speed from a snail  level up to 100Mbit/s.

Traffic shaping or firewall inspection services can affect this by a huge margin.

30 minutes for a 500 MB transfer does seem unusually slow, especially with a 1 Gb endpoint connection. I’d first check whether the slowdown happens in both upload and download directions and whether it affects all endpoints or only certain machines. It may also be worth testing with a smaller file and checking CPU/network usage on both sides during the transfer. If the connection is otherwise fast, that could help narrow down whether the limitation is ScreenConnect’s transfer method rather than the available bandwidth.

Thanks Dean and Annelie.

I tried different things. I have no Traffice Shaping or Firewall inspection services.

I use ESET Antivirus/Endpoint protection  on all PCs and Servers.

Turning ESET off on both the server and the endpoint did/does not make a difference (for pc to server transfer)

Turning ESET off on two seperate PCs changed to speed to fast (for pc to pc transfer)

Clearly the way Screenconnect transfers files is different from other programs.

I'll see if i can find if there's a way we can exclude Screenconnect transfer from ESET.
