Add app.config options for Linux and Mac

Partner would like similar app.config settings for Mac and Linux clients

Duplicates 2
Client customization options for Mac (app.config)

Currently the app.config setting AccessShowBalloonOnConnect only allows windows machines to utilize this feature.

Ideally, the Mac client should have the same app.config settings as the Windows client.

Hide Mac menubar icon

Would like to hide the Mac menubar and icon and notification pop-ups completely. I have been able to "hack" the icon away using the method below, but would like a true solution/feature.

From sdove support agent:

In my testing, if you update the "ApplicationIconMac22" on the Admin > Appearance page to use a custom icon, but don't supply one, it won't be there.

Just click Edit, and select custom, but leave it with "No Icon"

It adds a very small (like 2 pixel) blank space somewhere in the bar, but I've not been able to click it or notice unless it's stopped and started for some reason (the other icons will shift a touch, like when you reinstall, but again, barely noticable).

If they are already deployed, you'll need to run the "Reinstall" command for them to pick up the change.

If they are on 5.3 or older versions, that will prompt for admin creds on the remote machine (not a thing once the Mac clients are on 5.4 or above).

I don't fully understand why this request was declined when "Client customization options for Mac (app.config)" is marked as "CONSIDERING FOR FUTURE RELEASE"...

Is it because they are being considered duplicate requests? If so, instead of declining one, could we please have them marked as dups so the +1s get properly accumulated?

If they are not considered dups then could we get some feedback on why one is declined & the other not? (Does declining this one & not the other mean that Linux clients are being declined but Mac's are being considered?)

In general it would be really nice if some kind of feedback could be provided on the reason a request is being declined so people like myself who were following this request know how to interpret the action & whether it's worth it to follow up.
