Duplicates 6
Full control of Android

Hello Today Android can only see the screen, I want to ask when will be able to control the user screen Android will thank you for your reply.

Best regards

Android more options

The support for Android devices is too poor. When the device is not Samsung then our tool is just an ScreenShot shower.

Please add options to get more info like: Process, Applicacitions running, File Explorer, Wifi Manager, Email Manager, Application Manager. Launch Unistall Apps.

All this is possible to do with others tools out there. But I like too much ScreenConnect. Just the mobile support is too bad.

Remote support for any Android

I know the screenconnect can do "View Only" on Android device. Actually, we want to have remote access to Android devices like TeamViewer Remote Support for Android. View Only function is almost completely useless. We have to talk to the client on their cellphone and the client have to switch the screen back and fork. Our clients find it is very complicated

Full control over Android

Hello everyone ! When will you be able to fully control any android?

)

Not just Samsung

)

Android Control

I can tell this is a very requested feature, but wanted to further the push.

Looking to control the Zebra (Android base) devices in our warehouse environment. Almost all other control clients have this feature, and would be very beneficial in our environment.

Full control over Android

Hello everyone, I would like to be able to develop full control over Android, today I can only see the screen uncontrollably.

We'll be sending out the Beta test link on Monday or Tuesday next week, so be on the lookout in your gmail account for the link. I'll post here when it is live!

I signed up for the beta but didn't get any email. Is there a way to still get in? Nothing in Spam folder either

If you signed up for the beta and used a gmail address, you would be able to access using the above link and ensuring that you are logged into the play store with your gmail account.

Can anyone share who the email was sent from or swhite, who do we reach out to if we didn't get the invite?

All,
The beta email was sent last Thursday, if you have not received it, please check your Spam folder, but I'll copy the contents here for those who are part of the beta program and may have missed the email

Thank you for your interest in beta testing the ConnectWise ScreenConnect Android application. This release is our biggest ever and has the ability to take full control of any Android device (not Chrome OS) running Android OS version 7 and higher.

ConnectWise ScreenConnect Android Beta quick start guide - ConnectWise

Reporting Issues

If you encounter any issues with the release, please email this address (ctrlpm@connectwise.com), and include device manufacturer and model of the device being controlled.

I did not receive an email, and when I go to the play store it says the version I'm downloading was last updated in April. It doesn't appear to be any different from the old version. It seems to still be view-only. I've resubmitted my application in case it was simply missed.

In case my application was denied for some reason, the reasons I can think it might have been are: the address I provided is in fact a google workspace account. Just because it doesn't end in @gmail.com it doesn't mean I can't use it on the play store. The other reason I could think it might be denied is I entered a really oddball device, an industrial barcode scanner. This is just one of about a dozen devices we'd like to be able to control, but the form only allows one entry and the Skorpio X5 happened to be the one I was testing at the moment.

This is a feature my company has been wanting for YEARS and I'd really like to test this beta version.

All, We will be starting the phased rollout of the updated application to production tomorrow, I expect we'll be close to 100% rolled out by end of next week, barring any unforeseen issues that would cause us to pause the rollout.
As such, we will be closing down the beta track for this release. I have updated the beta testing list with all form submissions, so moving forward if you completed the form with a valid gmail address, you will automatically be enrolled and have access to the beta builds.

Hello swhite. Do you have any documented Android keyboard shortcuts? There are no virtual buttons available in the application, so all of the navigation has to be done by keyboard shortcuts, but I don't know what keys we need to use.

Documenation will be updates soon, in the meantime here are the motion and key events:

Motion Events:

  1. Mouse button click (left/right/wheel) triggers a single tap on the device.
  2. Double click triggers double tap for text areas.
  3. Long press opens pop out modal for apps on home screen.
  4. Button click + swipe triggers horizontal and vertical scroll.
  5. Wheel scroll triggers vertical scroll.
  6. Shift + wheel scroll triggers horizontal scroll.

Key Events:

  1. In a text field, host is able to send letters, numbers and symbols through keyboard. Caps lock, shift + character, backspace and delete keys also worked.
  2. Esc key triggers the Back button on the device.
  3. Windows key triggers the Home button on the device.
  4. Ctrl + Tab triggers the Switch button on the device.
  5. Enter key works like a normal enter key on the keyboard for Android 13.

Good Morning. I am having issues having the application respond to remote sessions unattended. Basically we want to have the Android tablets running the app and we can remote in whenever needed without any user prompts. But so far I have needed to accept to connect the session. Is there a way to allow us to use this without user interaction on the client end?

It sounds like maybe the device has been restarted between connection attempts.

When an Android device is restarted, the ScreenConnect service will restart, and the device will appear as connected on the Host page. When a host connects to the session after a reboot, the end user on the device will need to Start recording again by clicking the Start now button. Please note that this is an Android feature.

Shawn, is this new? It's been my understanding that Teamviewer for example, doesn't have this limitation as they've been what was recommended by Zebra for unattended access to their Android-based devices.

Hi Swhite,

Is there a release date for this? Just would like to start rolling this out to our sites.
