Shared Clipboard from host to remote session pasting numbers as a picture.

Dylan Palmer 9 months ago updated by CFBDAVE 4 weeks ago 10

Not sure if there was an recent update to connectwise but copying a cell from excel file on host computer to paste into remote session excel file it tries to paste as picture and not the contents. Can use Clipboard Key Strokes to get the correct info but is an extra step and slower to paste information.

I started having the same issue within the past 2 weeks.
It appears it's not pasted as a picture, but as a cell.

Also experiencing this issue as well. Connecting to a machine via CW -> copy cells from an Excel from the remote machine back to the host machine -> Pastes as image. Doesn't matter what mode of pasting is used (CTRL+V, or CTRL+SHIFT+V), the effect is the same.

We have this issue also recently. When attempting to copy a cell or a row from Excel on a remote computer and paste it locally on your device, the pasted content appears as an image and cannot be edited.

This issue is still present. Anyone know of any resolution

We're experiencing the same issue, but so far only on one computer, I noticed the affect machine is running a new version of the agent v24.2.10.8991 and the other workstations are running the v22 or v23 and they don't seem to be affected.
Not sure if it's related but it's not happening on other machines.

Any more information on this?  I started having the exact same issue about 2 weeks ago.  Any resolution at all?

This is a known issue and they are working on a fix but no ETA on when it will be released. This is related to the newest version of the SC agent.

I don't know they've been working on this.  I brought this up right when it happened.   I followed up over the months and being told it'd be fixed in each release.  Last it was for 24.4, now it's for 25.0.  It's ridiculous to break something so paramount to functionality.  They know when and HOW they broke it but it's still not resolved.

Hi Dave,
We basically tried to update the copy/paste feature so we could copy/paste images within a session. What you are seeing is 100% this bug.
SCP-38718
Attempting to copy table data into Excel pastes an image of the content after updating to 24.1.  Only resolution I have would be reverting back to 23.9 or waiting till the patch is released.

After a follow up a few months later:

Hi Dave,
I apologize on the delay. To be honest, it's been a rough year for ScreenConnect updates. This is something our Product team acknowledges and is committed to getting sorted.
Right now, the Copy/Paste Clipboard update has been planned for v24.4.
We are currently in v24.2. The next release v24.3 is set to be small.
Then we will be rolling out v24.4.

Again, I apologize. I understand the major disruption is causing. We are doing everything we can to fix this as quickly as possible.

Now this after seeing 24.4 did NOT fix it and following up to check the status.   This clearly is super low priority to them which is unfortunate

Hi Dave,
I do appreciate your continued patience. Right now, the patch for the clipboard copy bug is set to be included in the v25.1 release.
If all goes well, that should be next month.
The known issue will be updated once the patch is released but we will also post this to the output stream located here: ScreenConnect Output Stream / ConnectWise ScreenConnect
