Essentials / Custom sidebar

Hello,  I use the sidebar  most of the time for quick access to the chat window,   and since I already have that screen Real-estate I would like to Have some of the essential Icons always on the screen.   the issue is when you expand the essentials pull out,  it takes up a ton of space and makes the chat window useless.  

so what I Would like for the essentials pull out to have an options to only use the icons instead of the full text,  I realize that the Tick Options would need to be changed to an Icon or something similar.   or even better, maybe create a customizable tool bar that you can select options from all of the tool bars?
