Prompt to lock remote computer when disconnecting

When leaving a remote session, we would like to have a prompt ask if we want to lock the remote computer or leave it unlocked.

Duplicates 3
Auto-lock machine on disconnect

This is really a no-brainer and a huge miss for the devs. Automatically locking the system when a control session is ended is obviously needed as a basic security feature. Leaving the remote machine wide open and accessible if a session is ended due to a power or network issue or something exposes us to huge potential for problems.
I am very surprised that this in not built-in like it is with pretty much every other remote control software I have used over the years.

Lock remote PC depending on if user was logged in at connection like in teamviewer

In teamviewer there is an option that the remote PC only gets locked after the end of the session, when it was locked at the start of the session. This is super useful if you connect to workstations, where people are working and asking for actual help. At the moment they always have to relogin after I end the remote support session.
Please implement that in screenconnect/control as well.

Add more granular control over which machines auto lock

Partner asks to add more granular control over which machines auto lock on disconnect. Maybe do this off of session group or something to make that work.

Hey All,

An extension was built that will allow specifying what machines lock on disconnect (*only applicable to Windows OS). Specification is defined through a custom property.

I'm not sure how I feel about it halting a session you're trying to disconnect with a prompt. Maybe add the locking option in one of the drop-down menus?

My intention is not to halt a session, my intention is that as a remote user that is finished with my session and I am disconnecting from the host it should prompt me not the end user if I want to lock the host computer.

Many times I log on to a computer to do remote work and the user is not by his desk I want it to prompt me if I want to lock the host computer when I am done and disconnecting. This should not halt the session as I am disconnecting.

When I said 'halting' I meant that I wouldn't want a pause between the time you hit the 'X' to the time it prompts and you acknowledge it. I would like to keep it a clean exit with no prompts. I can also see someone accidentally hitting to lock the computer when they're working with a user and it leaves the user wondering what's going on. I'm all for placing the lock option in the menu at the top instead of having to go to the Windows Start menu> press the arrow for more options and selecting lock.

Actually - this would be a great feature. Indeed a popup would be a bit intrusive - this should be added the same as other settings like 'blank monitor' on the side panel. Lock windows session on disconnect (on/off). Then you could set the global default in screen connect and it could be overridden on a per session basis. Also - this should be something that is communicated to the client software for that session @ the start of the session and also when it is toggled in session. That way, if you lose connection with the client mid-session - it will still take effect. Having the prompt in there would actually reduce security - as if the session drops - you will not get prompted and the software will not have a chance to react. Finally - by making it a toggle in that panel, it should later easily allow the preference to be set per client machine if other feature requests enabling that ever come to fruition.

Auto-lock feature should be set for all servers. No reason why servers should have an unlocked screen when not connected to it.

yes, I agree that servers should auto lock when you disconnect if no other connection is present.

I agree with the "Auto-lock" feature. It should be default behavior for all sessions.

I even entered a suggestion for it just now.

Sorry, I would like to retract this request.
Since I updated Edit.App.Config, it is much easier to change that setting and push it to all my machines now.

The ability for extensions to automatically update themselves would be good.
