Re-Enable Hide Option from ScreenConnect

New update for ScreenConnect removed the option to hide top bar/banner. This is not acceptable since we have 100s of Point Of Sale devices that are touchscreen and not being able to hide is causing tons of issues

Expend sometime with CW Chat and they didn't know about the change, had to spell it out for them, keep telling me to Hide the option even though I told them 3 times in chat it's permanently disable

We are planning some changes in this area, but moving forward, this banner will be present whenever a host is connected to a user session.
The option we are exploring is to draw it on a layer where it's not visibile to the host. Stay tuned for more on this.

One more crosspost to bring these threads back to the top!

As you can tell, I am mightily PISSED off, and there is a queue.

This is getting more and more ridiculous.

You are not listening to customers, and are very obviously scared of your own product and its certificate signing. Someone external has reviewed your code, and something is obviously very wrong under the hood.

The branding removal, and the inability to hide annoying overlays for our customers (whom we are contracted with to provide quiet, seamless support to) is just smoke and mirrors. Who exactly are you protecting?

We are getting constant asks from our customer base about the (awful) ScreenConnect logo (green), as well as complaints of interruption.

A vendor that no longer listens is a failing vendor. We have removed all other ConnectWise products now and moved to alternatives. 15+ years with these products, and you have finally made me decide that this was the last renewal.

Your blog post was a disgrace and an insult to your customer base.

Be better.

"A vendor that no longer listens is a failing vendor."

Agreed. For some reason ScreenConnect are ok with their CA dictating things to them so they think it is ok to dictate things to us.

This entire situation is beyond ridiculous. ScreenConnect aren't listening and I am not going to pay for a service where the provider lets one of their providers dictate how I use it.

I chose ScreenConnect almost a decade ago because of the ability to customize everything. That was a major point of difference to the other options at the time. Now they are just like everyone else.

I have begun testing RustDesk so that I can have control over how things operate. As soon as I have that how I want it I am done with ScreenConnect.

What y'all are doing now with piddly attempts at guest warnings, any half competent scammer can convince the mark to proceed. The current measures aren't enough to draw alarm from the guest/mark, but it's more than enough to disrupt legit subscribers.

For free trial accounts, y'all should plaster the guest endpoint with warnings and cop lights and even redisplaying those warnings every couple of minutes. This could help with hit and run scammers looking to abuse SC free trials.

But as soon as someone subscribes then remove all these annoying interruptions and give back what we already had and paid for.

But to do this, SC/CW should implement KYC policies similar to what other sensitive corps already do and not just hand out subs with no vetting.

Proving identity, via direct bank debit, background checks, etc. There are ways to do this that would eliminate much abuse and impersonation. I just signed-up for an IRS login using ID.ME and it was surprisingly thorough.
