All, We will be starting the phased rollout of the updated application to production tomorrow, I expect we'll be close to 100% rolled out by end of next week, barring any unforeseen issues that would cause us to pause the rollout.
As such, we will be closing down the beta track for this release. I have updated the beta testing list with all form submissions, so moving forward if you completed the form with a valid gmail address, you will automatically be enrolled and have access to the beta builds.

If you signed up for the beta and used a gmail address, you would be able to access using the above link and ensuring that you are logged into the play store with your gmail account.

All,
The beta email was sent last Thursday, if you have not received it, please check your Spam folder, but I'll copy the contents here for those who are part of the beta program and may have missed the email

Thank you for your interest in beta testing the ConnectWise ScreenConnect Android application. This release is our biggest ever and has the ability to take full control of any Android device (not Chrome OS) running Android OS version 7 and higher.

Reporting Issues

If you encounter any issues with the release, please email this address (ctrlpm@connectwise.com), and include device manufacturer and model of the device being controlled.

I can confirm that is something we are working on, but it's not expected to resolve this issue, because as I have mentioned, we can't confirm with certainty that the ScreenConnect agent is the cause of the icon appearing (except of course when a host is connected)

The SCP you mentioned is more for code sanitation.

All, so far, we have not been able to replicate this behavior internally, nor been able to definitively identify ScreenConnect as the culprit.

The Screen Recording icon that is appearing is a new feature of Sonoma and is supposed to only appear when an application is actively recording the screen (ie: a host is connected to the session for ScreenConnect). Anyone here reporting this should contact support or post here with the following information:
1- Exact Version/Build of Sonoma (Apple menu > About this Mac > Click the "Sonoma 14.0" text)

2- Is another application that uses the Sonoma Screen Recording permission running or active?

3- Does the icon, when hovered over or opened identify that ScreenConnect is the application causing the alert?

Thanks!

Sean
