Leave internal admin active on AD bind

Ebonweaver 8 years ago updated by anonymous 8 years ago 7

If you set SC to authenticate to AD, it disables all "internal" accounts. This is a problem in that if there is an issue with the external authentication you are locked out of the software. With any software like this, there should always be a single built in admin/root account that works at all times regardless of other authentication methods. This allows the sys admin to have a way to service the system in the event of problems.

You should see this issues solved in 6.1.

Ability to "Push" access clients to other machines on the same network

jhardwick 8 years ago updated by Michael Bannerman 8 years ago 2

LogMeIn had an option in their Rescue product that would allow you to see other machines on the same "segment" by using the computer browser service perhaps and "push" the equivalent of a support session to them via PSExec/scheduled task or something.

It was really helpful for the "crap we thought we had the agent on that machine" scenarios.

We have an extension named "The Client Networker" that will allow you to deploy access clients to other network machines. It's in the final review stages, so you should see it in the extension brower soon.

Cloud Instance Monitoring

jhardwick 8 years ago updated by Michael Bannerman 8 years ago 5

I'd like to see better cloud instance monitoring. There have been easily 4 times now since I've been using SC in the cloud (about 6 months now) where the cloud has been down and I've needed to reach out to support to report it and it comes as "news".

Given that SC is a mostly web app can some automatic monitoring be put in place -- Nagios or something to watch, attempt repair and escalate if necessary the availability of the service.

Nothing worse in providing support to clients, when you tell them your tools are unavailable and you weren't aware of it in advance.

Suppress (empty) SubGroup

joncz 9 years ago updated by anonymous 7 years ago 2

I want to be able to have subgroups for only non-empty values, thus suppressing the display of the (empty) subgroup. Any organization that has only and (empty) subgroup would not show the triangle control. Those organizations that have values in the subgroup expression (such as customProperty2 containing the site name) would only display subgroups where customProperty2 had a value.

Access Session by code

Jason Vasquez 9 years ago updated by anonymous 7 years ago 4

I would like to be able to create an "access" computer by a code like you can with the "support" section. It is a waste of time to have to create a support session and then deploy the client for any time access OR to create a one time support session and then have to log into our portal and create it there. I would like to be able to send the "access" client via email automatically or provide the customer with a code.

We're working in 6.1 or 6.2 on the ability to provide a url by email to get the access client.

Main Toolbar Menus Display on Click

growthandtech 9 years ago updated by anonymous 8 years ago 4 1 duplicate

It would be nice to have an option for the ScreenConnect toolbar menus to only display on click.

Example: If I'm connected to a client's PC/Server, especially one with multiple monitors, it's easy to hover over the wrong spot and get a ScreenConnect toolbar popping up in front of what I'm doing. If the menus didn't trigger until I clicked on them, had a slight delay, or weren't sensitive for 3 or so pixels from the bottom much frustration could be avoided.

Hello,

PM and Development has discussed your request and although we are declining it, we are actively working on another solution that would too, solve your problem.
